Marie-Esprit-Léon Walras (French:; 16 December 1834 – 5 January 1910) was a French mathematical economist and Georgist. He formulated the marginal theory of value (independently of William Stanley Jevons and Carl Menger) and pioneered the development of general equilibrium theory.
Léon Walras, né le 16 décembre 1834 à Évreux et mort le 5 janvier 1910 à Montreux, est un économiste français dont la carrière universitaire s'est entièrement déroulée à l'Université de Lausanne en Suisse. S'il a profondément marqué l'histoire de la science économique, sa pensée a eu du mal à s'imposer en France.
