The Roxelyn and Richard Pepper Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is home to undergraduate, professional, and doctoral research programs that explore the science of human hearing, speech, language, learning, and swallowing and seek new and more effective ways to prevent, diagnose, and treat related communication disorders.

Theories of Persuasion (COMM_ST 205-0) This course is a survey of major theories that explains how to change another person's attitudes and behaviors. Students learn the application of persuasion within a variety of contexts, including relationships, organizations, legal campaigns, and the mass culture.
Bent was a senior editor at American Theatre magazine from 2006-2015. Bent’s writing has appeared in Time Out New York, the Village Voice, HEEB, the Brooklyn Rail, TDF’s online magazine Stages, Emergency INDEX, and ELLE. Bent has a BA in philosophy and an MFA in playwriting from Brooklyn College.
