UK 2008 re-release to coincide with the 2008 re-release of Becoming X (CD and LP), Splinter (CD and LP) and The Complete Singles Boxset. The artwork has been scanned from an original copy from 1998, rather than using the master artwork (evident by the One Little Indian website and logo being printed underneath the label information on the rear cover), resulting in blurry, dark artwork and text.

Becoming X got mostly positive reviews from contemporary critics, who often compared Sneaker Pimps to trip hop artists like Portishead and Tricky.. In a positive interview for AllMusic, Stephen Thomas Erlewine defined the album "one of the most engaging byproducts of post-Portishead trip-hop", albeit being more guitar-driven than their predecessors.
Sneaky Beginnings… Sneaker Pimps were originally formed in the northern city of Hartlepool, in the United Kingdom. In around 1985, Liam Howe and his brother Miles, apart from the usual time-filling activities of hanging around school with friends or pedalling off to the sea-front, would make their own home-made music, in which they’d dub to a cassette tape to share amongst family and friends.
