Miúcha ist die Tochter des Historikers Sérgio Buarque de Hollanda und Maria Amélia Buarque de Hollanda – Schwester des Komponisten Chico Buarque und der ebenfalls Sängerinnen Ana de Hollanda und Cristina. Sie wuchs innerhalb eines Musikambientes in São Paulo auf.
