Walter Gilbert. Walter Gilbert, molecular biology pioneer, physicist, biochemist, entrepreneur and Nobel laureate. He received his Bachelor of Art degree from Harvard University in 1953 and Master degree in physic (1957), Ph.D. in mathematics from Cambridge University in England in 1957. He came back to Harvard as a postdoctoral fellow in physics.
