  4. James Allen's Girls' School, (JAGS), is an independent day school in Dulwich, South London. It is the oldest girls’ independent school in Greater London. The school is a registered charity. It was originally part of Edward Alleyn's College of God's Gift charitable foundation. This also included Alleyn's School and Dulwich College.

Established in 1741, JAGS is the oldest independent girlsschool in London; our founder James Allen’s forward-thinking and philanthropic approach to education is still at the heart of everything we do. We celebrate our unique and extraordinary heritage, ensuring it is as much a part of our future as it is of our past.

Academic scholarships are awarded each year for 11+ and 13+ entry, based on the results of the Senior School Entrance Examination. 11+ and 13+ Scholarships are also offered for Music, Art and Sporting talent. Our scholarships are valued at £1,000 per annum, to be deducted from the school fees.

  7. Contact. The School Day. Pupils are welcome to arrive at the Senior School from 8am, unless they have an organised club or activity which begins before this time. Registration begins at 8:25am. Although the school bell rings at 3:45pm, many pupils attend clubs and activities after school.
