7. Juni 2020 · His name is Val Burke. Val was the bass player in a self-contained R&B band called Willie & the Mighty Magnificents. They were the backup studio band for a group called the Moments, which had hits like “Love on a Two-Way Street.”. At the time, they were headed up by hip-hop pioneer Sylvia Robinson of Sugar Hill Records.
2. Nov. 2023 · Valerie Burke, of East Greenwich, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 28. She was born in Acushnet, Mass., and graduated from New Bedford High School. Val spoke fondly of her time studying nursing and caring for patients at St Luke’s Hospital in Cambridge, Mass. But what she wanted more than anything was to be a mother.
