Kym Karath began her Hollywood career at a young age, appearing in various television shows and films. However, her most notable role came at the age of six when she was cast as the youngest von Trapp child, Gretl, in the 1965 movie, The Sound of Music, which was directed by Robert Wise.
Kym Karath was born in Los Angeles, California in 1958 and began her acting career at the age of 3, appearing in Spencer's Mountain with Henry Fonda and Maureen O'Hara. She continued her child acting career in The Thrill of It All with Doris Day and James Garner, and Good Neighbor Sam with Jack Lemmon before winning the role of the youngest Von Trapp daughter.
