The iron curtain separating the races has lifted and they are all (except one) citizens on equal footing, but Mark Bamford's "Cape of Good Hope" is a post-apartheid film in which the characters are less concerned with politics than with matters of the heart.

Juli 2005 · In Bamford’s feel-good vision of Africa, which, admittedly, has its laconic charm, the good guys are obviously delineated from the bad, and when one of the bad ones falls in a puddle of mud, the good ones—all easily rewarded by film’s end—are there to point and laugh. Like Haggis, Bamford confuses audience pandering for hope. Score:
