Walther Funk (18 August 1890 – 31 May 1960) was a German economist and Nazi official who served as Reich Minister for Economic Affairs (1938–1945) and president of Reichsbank (1939–1945). During his incumbency, he oversaw the mobilization of the German economy for rearmament and arrangement of forced labor in concentration camps.

26. Mai 2015 · Walther Funk was born in Trakehnen, East Prussia, on August 18 th 1880. It was quickly apparent to his family that he was a very able boy in a great number of subjects. From school Funk went to the University of Berlin where he studied economics, philosophy and law. Funk was drafted into the German Army in 1916 but received a medical discharge as a result of ill-health.
