Im November 2005 waren die übrig gebliebenen Texas Tornados Fender, Meyers und Jimenez noch einmal gemeinsam im Studio, um zwölf neue Titel einzuspielen. Das geplante Comeback-Album wurde aber wegen Freddy Fenders schlechtem Gesundheitszustand nicht mehr veröffentlicht. Fender starb im Oktober 2006 an Lungenkrebs.
