  7. Reading Response 5. The book Destined to Witness: Growing up Black in Nazi Germany was a very interesting story of Hans J. Massaquoi. Hans was the child of a Liberian and a German, making him black, and therefore, a non-Aryan, but he was not as low on the racial chain as the Jew. Being black in Nazi Germany gave him a very interesting perspective.
