Het album is me de afgelopen weken alleen maar dierbaarder geworden en is voor mij de topfavoriet voor de nummer 1 positie in mijn jaarlijstje over 2019. Tegelijk met het album verscheen ook Allison Moorer’s autobiografie, ook met de titel Blood.
27. Mai 2015 · Dabei kann man sich das Album auch ohne den Bezug auf Allison Moorers Schicksal als schön produziertes, abwechslungsreiches und somit sehr unterhaltsames Werk genießen. Das Album hat es immerhin bis Platz 26 der Billboard Top Country Alben geschafft. Am 21. Juni wird sie ihren 43. Geburtstag feiern und Allison Moorer kann sich sicher sein, dass ihre Karriere weitergeht.
Mockingbird was produced by Buddy Miller. In his review for AllMusic, Thom Jurek wrote that it "is a natural sounding set of covers that runs the gamut from rock and barrelhouse blues, to jazz, country, and traditional and indie folk." The title track, the only original song on the album, written by Moorer, is "a breezy acoustic ballad."

Allison Moorer (born June 21, 1972) is an American country singer-songwriter. She signed with MCA Nashville in 1997 and made her debut on the U.S. Billboard Country Chart with the release of her debut single, "A Soft Place to Fall", which she co-wrote with Gwil Owen .
