It's a best-of set culled from Hancock's first seven, or maybe eight, I'm not sure, albums on his own Rainlight label. Given the independent nature of Rainlight , the release of this album was the first time many people got to hear the guy. The notes contain some lovely photos (from Butch) but little else of note other than a list of the players - we certainly don't get to hear who plays or ...

Juli 2006 · Butch Hancock is a singer-songwriter that came out of the 1980s-90s crop of singer-songwriters that included Robert Earl Keen, Jr., Townes Van Zandt, Lyle Lovett, etc. Not quite folk, not quite country, but completely honest lyrics. Some refer to this type of music as Americana. The only other Butch Hancock song that I wish was on this album is "Just a Wave, Not the Water". Recommended.
