Mid 1969 Gib Guilbeau recorded a single in Hollywood - "Home Of The Blues" / "Lodi" - which included the whole ex-Nashville West band (Gib, Clarence, Gene and Wayne) and Red Rhodes & Glen D. Hardin". This single was released on CD by Beau Town Records as Classic Guilbeau - 1968 - 1986 .
17. Aug. 2017 · Cajun fiddle player, Floyd Gib Guilbeau has long been one of the great unsung heroes of the country-rock movement. He had been part of the 1960s Los Angeles group Nashville West with Gene Parsons and Clarence White before he and Parsons joined the Flying Burrito Brothers in 1974/75.

With rhythm guitarist Gib Guilbeau, bassist Wayne Moore and drummer Gene Parsons, Clarence formed Nashville West, named after a nightclub in El Monte, California. They played country hits by Merle Haggard, Mel Tillis and Glen Campbell in an aggressive, cranked-up rock ‘n’ roll style. White entwickelte diesen Stil ständig weiter und viele Gitarristen haben diesen Stil bis heute weitergetragen. Parsons ist heute noch in diesem Geschäft tätig. Mit diesem Musiker sollte er später auch lange zusammenarbeiten, so zunächst ab 1968 in der kurzlebigen Formation Nashville West, mit Gib Guilbeau, Gene Parsons und Wayne Moore.
