Barney Bigard. Albany Leon Bigard. Clarinetist, Saxophonist, Bandleader. (1906 - 1980) Barney Bigard carried the influence of his birth city, New Orleans, throughout his career. He played tenor sax but later concentrated on clarinet, which he studied with Lorenzo Tio. In 1925 he was hired by King Oliver and moved to Chicago.
Recorded at RCA Studios, New York City on April 3 and 4, 1961. Remixed from the original three-track tapes and remastered in 24-bit/96 kHz. Tracks 1-1 to 1-10 originally issued on Together For The First Time (Roulette SR 52074). Tracks 1-11 to 1-17 originally issued on The Great Reunion (Roulette Sr 52103).
