Wendy Waldman is one of the most gifted american singer-songwriter, who has always enjoyed strong critical acclaim, but never reached the commercial success she deserved because of the poor label support and promotion she received. 1976's "The main refrain" may be her best album, along with her terrific 1973's debut lp, and is the second to last record published through Warner Brothers.
29. Jan. 2007 · THE MAIN REFRAIN is a pleasure to hear from beginning to end. One thing I did not mention in my other W. W. reviews was the fine choice to have Waldman herself contribute liner notes to all five Collectors Choice releases of her Warner Bros. catalogue. Upon reading these commentaries, I learned more about the woman than I ever did back when all of this music was new.
