Recording from monkeys, he found that the frequency of the “spontaneous” oscillations ranged from 15 to 20 per second, but increased to 18 to 22 per second after peripheral nerve stimulation ( Cybulski and Jelenska-Macieszyna, 1914 ; Brazier, 1961 ).
