Frederick William Vanderbilt ( 2 februari 1856 – Hyde Park (New York), 29 juni 1938) was een lid van de steenrijke Amerikaanse familie van Nederlandse afkomst Vanderbilt. Hij was gedurende 61 jaar directeur bij hun spoorwegonderneming New York Central Railroad . Hij was de derde zoon van William Henry Vanderbilt en Maria Louisa Kissam.

A son of William Henry Vanderbilt, Frederick Vanderbilt graduated in 1876 from Yale University's Sheffield Scientific School, to which he donated $500,000 in 1902. In 1878 he married Louise Holmes Anthony Torrance. Though they were unable to have children, they had a close relationship with their nieces and nephews. Frederick Vanderbilt died on June 29, 1938.
