Dorothy Shay. American popular comedic singer in late 1940s-1950s. Later became a character actress. Born April 11th, 1921 in Jacksonville. Florida. Died October 22nd, 1978 in Santa Monica, California. As a singer, she was known as the "Park Avenue Hillbillie". She often sang story songs with a comedic tilt to them.
