Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre operates a seasonal holiday activities program during Queensland school holidays, four times per year (Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring). Activities include a range of nature-based activities and events for all ages, including Junior Ranger activities and daily Wildlife Discovery Shows.

Im engeren Sinne ist der Walkabout ein Einführungsritual für dreizehnjährige Aborigines ( Initiation ), die erstmals den Weg ihres eigenen Traumpfades gehen.
