This is a 1924 fantasy novel by Anglo-Irish writer Lord Dunsany, which became public domain in January 2020. It is widely recognized as one of the most acclaimed works in all of fantasy literature. Reflective of its roots, The King of Elfland’s Daughter is very much an extended fairy tale, from the smidge of surprising and grave humor to the feeling that no one else exists in this world apart from the handful of characters whose stories we follow.
