The series is produced by Veena Sud (executive producer) and is based on the Danish television series Forbrydelsen (which translates as The Crime, but marketed abroad as The Killing ). Season 1 premiered on April 3, 2011. Season 2 premiered on April 1, 2012. Season 3 premiered on June 2, 2013.
