Bennington’s graduate programs are built on the belief that making new work is at the heart of the educational process. The College’s graduate programs are small, intensive, and highly selective. They are best suited for students who have a strong sense of what they want from graduate work and know how to assume responsibility for the design of their educations.
Bennington College is a quaint college to visit. We just wanted to see it while we were in Bennington, and it was worth a 15-20 minute drive. It is very small, but cute nonetheless. I was hoping there would be enough to justify parking to walk around, but there was not. However, we enjoyed our time driving around.
Bennington College is situated on 550 acres in the Green Mountains, and many of its buildings are converted barns and farmhouses. It was founded in 1932 as a college for women. Bennington College is home to the Visual and Performing Arts Complex and the Bennington Writing Workshops, held each summer.
