Heinz Paetzold (1941–2012) war Professor für Kommunikationstheorie an der Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften in Hamburg und nahm zahlreiche Gastprofessuren u.a. in Japan, Norwegen, Polen und China wahr.
Bekannt geworden ist Ernst Cassirer (1874-1945) - der den Neukantianismus um den Ansatz der Kulturwissenschaft erweitert hat und am Ende zu einer übergreifenden Philosophie der Kulturen gelangte - insbesondere wegen seiner Philosophie der symbolischen Formen.

Post la morto de Cohen, Cassirer disvolvigis teorion de simbolismo kaj uzis ĝin por etendi fenomenologion de sciaro en pli ĝenerala filozofio de kulturo.
