Theater Area of Emphasis (Acting, Design/Production, Directing, Integrated Studies, Musical Theater, Playwriting) All emphasis classes require instructor consent to enroll.   3. Who can apply: Applicant must have COMPLETED at least three courses from the FILM TV Minor Course List, each with a letter grade of B or better. (Lower Division courses do not have to be completed first.) Applicant must have UCLA GPA 3.0 or better. Applicant must have declared a major in a department other than Film, Television and Digital Media.

  4. The three-year TFT Graduate Program for Theater, Film and Television Design nurtures each student’s unique artistic journey. With a diverse faculty of artists, scholars, theater and filmmakers, students receive a valuable blend of teaching methodologies and hands-on experiences, including Emerging Technology for Entertainment.

  5. These courses afford the student an opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty mentors, allowing the student to pursue targeted interests in aesthetic or technical subjects. Cinematography students also serve as the director of photography on projects written and directed by students specializing in the Production/Directing MFA specialization.
