Pat Summerall was a beloved American sportscaster, best known for his work in the field of football commentary. Born on May 10, 1930, in Lake City, Florida, Summerall had an illustrious career spanning over four decades, during which he became one of the most recognizable and respected voices in televised sports.
Pat Summerall, the famed NFL broadcaster, died April 16 in Dallas of cardiac arrest at age 82. He had been in Zale Lipshy Hospital after surgery for a broken hip. His pastor, Jack Graham, said with all the accolades and applause that Summerall received for his sports broadcasting work, his walk with Christ is what mattered the most to him.
