Feb. 2018 · Cedric Gibbons, who was born in Dublin in 1893, began working for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer in the 1920s and went on to design sets, props and costumes for more than a thousand Hollywood films including Singin’ in the Rain and The Wizard of Oz. He died in 1960 and his contribution to cinema will be recognised at the Dublin International Film Festival.
