At Abbey Road Studios on 4 April 1963 The Hollies passed their recording test for Ron Richards, George Martin’s assistant producer at Parlophone Records.The session was engineered by Peter Bown, with Ken Townsend acting as technical engineer and very likely Geoff Emerick serving as tape op.[4] After signing with Parlophone it was essentially straight to the charts for The Hollies.
