The Yardbirds. The Yardbirds is een Britse rockband die in de jaren zestig furore maakte. De band is vooral bekend omdat drie van de beroemdste gitaristen, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck en Jimmy Page, hun carrière bij de groep begonnen. De band had gedurende de jaren zestig onder andere de hits Heart full of soul en For Your Love .
18. Jan. 2019 · The band made up of Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham first performed together in September 1968, before they took the name Led Zeppelin. The musicians came together in part as a result of the ever-changing lineup of the Yardbirds, a group that was a key to the British blues and R&B boom in the early ’60s.
31. Juli 2023 · Although these discs are attributed to the Yardbirds, they were played entirely by Most’s session guys and bear no resemblance whatsoever to the Yardbirds’ style and sound. Weighed down by such abysmal recordings, the Page/Relf/McCarty/Dreja Yardbirds finally called it quits, playing their last gig at the College of Technology in the small British town of Luton on July 7, 1968.
