Ernest Thompson Seton (14 août 1860 - 23 octobre 1946), auteur canado-écossais (puis américain), très reconnu de son vivant, fut aussi artiste animalier, fondateur des Woodcraft Indians. Il fut sa vie durant ardent défenseur du monde sauvage et des Indiens - qui le nomment "The Chief". Son œuvre a fait l’objet au Japon de plusieurs adaptations en mangas et en séries d'animation.
