Alasdair Gray's story is a brilliant reimagining of the Victorian novel! The structure is quite unique and highlights the unreliability of the narrator(s), which makes for a rather confusing reading experience that is nevertheless totally worth the read! I liked that the female perspective was so present. The book reads like a feminist & socialist take on Mary Shelly's Frankenstein!!!
