Czesław Miłosz , né le 30 juin 1911 à Šeteniai (en polonais Szetejnie) et mort le 14 août 2004, est un poète, romancier, essayiste et traducteur polonais. Considéré comme un des poètes majeurs du XX e siècle, prix Nobel de littérature en 1980 , il est également l'auteur de La Pensée captive publié en 1953, qui interroge la place des intellectuels au sein des régimes autoritaires.
