Interestingly, the album was produced by The Kinks Ray Davies. The song “You Don’t Have to Walk in the Rain” was the album’s closing track.
The band that would become The Turtles was initially formed in 1962, as a surf music group called The Nightriders. Formed by students of Westchester High, a high school in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles, the Nightriders were led by Howard Kaylan (on sax), and initially featured classmates Al Nichol on guitar, Chuck Portz on bass, and Don Murray on drums.
