Albert Salmi, who made a career out of portraying cowboys in television Westerns such as "Gunsmoke," and his wife were found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide, police said Tuesday.

25. Apr. 1990 · Veteran stage and screen actor Albert Salmi shot and killed his estranged wife and then shot and killed himself, police said Tuesday. Police found the bodies of Salmi, 62, and Roberta Salmi, 55, at their South Hill home Monday night. It appeared the deaths occurred between late Saturday and early Sunday, said Lt. Robert Van Leuven.
