Philipp Stauber, der in Olching bei München aufwuchs, erhielt zunächst klassischen Klavierunterricht und wechselte im zwölften Lebensjahr zur Gitarre. Nach dem Abitur absolvierte er das Münchener Gitarreninstitut MGI und erlangte anschließend ein Diplom mit hervorragender Note an der Musikhochschule Arnhem im Fach Jazzgitarre.
