In 1771 he was appointed Counsellor and Assessor of the Town and Province of Ajaccio Untill 1951 he was buried in the Church of Saint-Gilles in Saint Leu-la-Foret, build by order of his grandson, the Emperor Napoleon III.

    Napoleone Buonaparte was born in Ajaccio, Corsica, on 15 August 1769. He was the second of eight children born to Carlo Buonaparte, a lawyer descended from Tuscan nobility, and his young wife Maria-Letizia Ramolino.
