Michael Chance CBE (born in Penn, Buckinghamshire, 7 March 1955) is an English countertenor and the founder and Artistic Director of The Grange Festival. Chance was born in Penn, Buckinghamshire, into a musical family.

Er studierte am King’s College in Cambridge (1974–1977), danach bei Rupert Bruce-Lockhart. Er startete frühzeitig eine Karriere als Konzertsänger. Beim Buxton Festival 1984 begann er auch als Opernsänger zu arbeiten.
