She was already the widow of the banker Hippolyte Jouberthon (having born him one child, Anna, in 1799), and thus known as "Madame Jouberthon", when she became the second wife of Lucien Bonaparte. She and her second husband had nine children, including: Louis Lucien Bonaparte (1813–1891).

Po úmrtí prvního manžela bankéře Hippolyta Jouberthona, kterému v roce 1799 porodila dceru Annu, se 26. října 1803 stala druhou manželkou Luciena Bonaparta , mladšího bratra Napoleona Bonaparta .
