While The Krofft Supershow would debut on September 11, 1976, Kaptain Kool and the Kongs made their debut the night before as part of the Krofft-produced ABC’s Saturday Sneak Peek. The special was hosted by Jimmy Osmond and featured the rest of his family, Dick Clark, Marty Allen and ventriloquist Chris Kirby.
