Legendary Martha Graham’s work at The Neighborhood Playhouse continues as a vital component of the curriculum today. Unique to The Neighborhood Playhouse, this movement art form provides training in contemporary movement to prepare the body as a dramatic instrument, with emphasis on focus and the awareness of the body’s center.
Applicants are encouraged to ensure their Application Form, $75.00 Application Fee, and photo arrive prior to supporting documents (letters of reference, resume, transcripts, etc.) to expedite the application process. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis based on class capacity. Space is limited, so we suggest that you apply early.

The bronze plaque containing excerpts from the Proclamation presented to The Neighborhood Playhouse by the New York City Council, which hangs permanently on the façade of the building.
