The Desilu studio properties, totalling 33 sound stages, made Desilu one of the most prominent TV production companies in Hollywood in the 1950s and most of the 1960s.
Desilu began when actress Lucille Desirée Ball married bandleader Desiderio Alberto Arnaz III in 1940. During their marriage, the pair built Desilu Studios and Desilu Productions and gave birth to two children -- Lucie Desirée and Desiderio IV (Desi Jr.). They also starred in a little television comedy called I Love Lucy.
