I’d never claim “Ain’t But The One Way” as a high point, but I think it’s plenty decent - especially considering the predecessor from 1979 was the god awful disco cash-in “Ten Years Too Soon”, a weak ass attempt at “remixing” some of his classic tunes. I think it deserves some close listening with fresh ears and a little perspective in order to get a fair shake.
