  3. Alabama Ass Whuppin' is the title of the first Drive-By Truckers live album. It was recorded live in Athens and Atlanta in 1999. During the band's 2012 New Year's Eve rock show at the 9:30 Club in DC, it was announced that an expanded vinyl and CD release of the album was scheduled for 2013. A new version of the album was remastered and released on ATO Records in 2013.

  4. Athens, GA – ATO Records will reissue the Drive-By Truckers' Alabama Ass Whuppin' on September 10, 2013. Alabama Ass Whuppin' is the band's third album. Originally released in 2000, the record has been out of print for years. The album has been re-mastered and includes updated artwork by Wes Freed. This will also be the first time the album has been available on vinyl.

"AAW" is as ragged and sloppy as "SRO" is polished and professional. The album was recorded before the "SRO" sessions, and therefore does not contain any songs from the band's breakthrough album.   7. 23. Juni 2013 · This the official reissue of the bands long out of print live album from 2000, ALABAMA ASS WHUPPIN'. Recorded in various Georgia clubs during the Pizza Deliverance Tour of 1999, it is probably the most punk rock thing they have ever done. ATO Records & Drive-By Truckers have restored the original 1/2" analogue mixes of the album which have been re-mastered with some beautiful new art work.
