William Demarest. (February 27, 1892 – December 28, 1983) was an American character actor. He is best known for playing Uncle Charley in My Three Sons. [1] He was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota . Demarest died from prostate cancer and pneumonia in Palm Springs, California, aged 91.
