Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi (en arabe : عبد الباسط محمد علي المقرحي), né le 1 er avril 1952 à Tripoli et mort le 20 mai 2012 [1] dans la même ville, est un agent de renseignement libyen, chef de la sécurité de la compagnie aérienne nationale Libyan Arab Airlines et directeur du Centre des études stratégiques de Tripoli [2].

On 20 August 2009, the United States government issued an official press release condemning the decision of the Scottish Government to release Abdel Basset Mohamed al-Megrahi and stated, "Megrahi was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for his role in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, which blew up over Scotland on 21 December 1988.
