  1. Kasturba was a woman of courage and in her early years resisted the domination of her husband. As Gandhi said, "She was a woman always of strong will which in early days, I used to mistake for obstinacy. But that strong will enabled her to become unwittingly my teacher in the practice of non-violent non-cooperation."
