In his report, which was released 12 days later, Noguchi wrote, “I ascribe the death to ‘acute barbiturate poisoning’ due to ‘ingestion of overdose.'”. The medical examiner, Dr. Theodore Curphey, seconded Noguchi’s findings at a news conference that day.
