That Ambel produced the albums and gradually, seamlessly became a featured member of Borges’ touring band (performing some of his own songs), and a sometimes co-writer, speaks to the ease and effortlessness with which Ambel is able to work collaboratively with the artists who enlist Ambel to produce their records.

Eric "Roscoe" Ambel" was born August 20, 1957, in Kankakee, Illinois. At a young age, Eric took up the piano and trumpet as part of the School music program. Around 10 years old Eric borrowed a guitar from his neighbor and began to teach himself with a chord book and by playing along with records. Eric played both trumpet and guitar throughout his college career at University of Wyoming .
While out on tour with Steve Earle from 2000 to 2005 I had quite a few different amp rigs out on tour. I started with 2 Marshall 50 watt 1987 model heads into 2 4 x 12” cabinets then went to a rig with a ’62 Fender Bassman and an Oahu head.
