Apr. 2022 · It's pretty incredible that no one considered for a second that maybe the app was taken down for maintenance or temporarily suspended by Google for any one of the many reasons they reject apps. I don't work for Whisper or Google so I don't know exactly what the issue was but the app was temporarily missing from Play Store.

Upload any media file (video, audio) in any format and transcribe it. Option to cut audio to X seconds before transcription. Option to disable file uploads.

24. Feb. 2023 · This is not the first time the app vanished from the Apple App Store. At this time, no factual details has been released, nor any word on if or when it'll return. If you've uninstalled the app, you might be able to download it from your "purchase history", as many were able to last time the app was removed.
Go into settings, search WhisperPlay Daemon, select app info, notifications, and turn off. After this you should be good and wont see it again. How do you get rid of this whisperplay core service? I got rid of the notification, but no one seems willing to say what the daemon is for.

Mai 2024 · For context, I was planning on leaving whisper anyway within the next few weeks because I wouldn’t have time to use the app and have a life since I’m moving to a new city to take care of my grandma. But this just sealed the deal and would vehemently not recommend that anyone download whisper again. In fact, it should be shut down on app stores.

I thought whisper was random and anonymous. I had been using it almost like a journal and some user just dragged me through the mud last night, trolled me and made me feel like a pile of shit. I miss my ex a lot and I was using it to say so and she ripped me a new asshole.

1. Nov. 2022 · Looks like it was removed from the App Store on iOS, likely within the past two weeks, but it's still available on Android. I cannot find any individual statement from Whisper or Apple about why; all I can find is one guy on Twitter speculating that Apple removed it because of bots posting content that violated Apple's ToS.
